Student wounded in shooting at Texas high school

15-year-old girl was shot at Italy High School in Italy, Texas; 16-year-old boy is in custody.

A 16-year-old student is in custody after a 15-year-old girl was shot and wounded at a Texas high school.

WFAA-TV reports that just before 8 a.m., a shooting was reported in the cafeteria at Italy High School in Italy, Texas. A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody without incident after shooting a 15-year-old girl, police say.

The girl was taken via helicopter to a hospital; her condition hasn't been released.

Italy High School has about 280 students in 6th through 12th grades.
