The Pass-Gate Addition at Argo Community High School District 217 in Summit, Illinois, transforms an overlooked service edge into a vibrant new public face for the campus. Positioned along what was once a blank masonry wall, the addition reclaims the south frontage—now animated and oriented toward the athletic fields—as a welcoming, visible hub for students and the community.
Conceived as both gateway and gathering place, the project fulfills a long-standing district goal: to provide a safe, supervised environment for after-school activity while establishing a clear, dignified entrance for events.
