The 23,000-square-foot facility for Girls Athletic Leadership School (GALS) will accommodate about 330 students.

The Girls Athletic Leadership School (GALS), an all-girls charter middle school in Los Angeles, is constructing a new campus in the city's Van Nuys neighborhood

The 23,000-square-foot facility will consist of steel modular buildings, reports Cision PR Newswire. It will have 17 modern classrooms constructed from repurposed shipping containers that feature open space with natural light and full-height glazing.

The school says the new campus will enable it to move off the Panorama High School campus. GALS has had to move three times in the last five years.

The new facility will accommodate about 330 students.

Construction is expected to be complete in fall 2022.

Franco Architects is the architect.
