800-bed housing development will serve students from two colleges in Atlanta

The economic development authority for Fulton County, Georgia, has approved up to $144.46 million in bonds to pay for an 800-bed student housing facility in Atlanta that will serve both Morehouse College and Spelman College.

Develop Fulton says in a news release that the 450,000-square-foot project will consist of about 290 residential units and 800 beds. It also will have a community lounge, shared gathering spaces, central greenspace, rooftop terrace, fitness center and dedicated study areas.

According to the development team, the project is expected to begin construction this summer with a completion date of fall 2028.
