Billions of construction dollars were on the line Nov. 8 as voters in hundreds of school districts decided the fate of construction bond proposals. Most of the largest bond requests were in California, where a statewide $9 billion school funding referendum also was on the ballot (it was approved.)
Here are the 10 largest school district bond proposals that were on the Nov. 8 ballot: seven won approval, two were rejected, and one still is too close to call. (In the Chino Valley district, votes are still being tallied; the proposal needs 55 percent approval for passage, and as of Nov. 18, with many thousands of ballots still uncounted, it had 55.09 percent of the vote.)
