Largest Community College Bond Proposals, Nov. 8, 2016

Nov. 22, 2016
Two-year institutions in California dominated the list of the largest bond requests in the November general election.

Public K-12 school districts weren't the only ones who were asking voters on Nov. 8 to approve billions of dollars in facility funding.

Community college districts also rely on taxpayer funds to pay for construction and renovation on their campuses. Many of those districts, especially in California, placed proposals on the general election ballot.

Nine of the 10 largest bond requests were in California—led by the $3.3 billion referendum that voters in the Los Angeles Community College district approved.

Below are the 10 largest community college bond proposals that were on the Nov. 8 ballot: eight won approval, and two were rejected.
