Nipher Middle School in Kirkwood, Mo., is undergoing an $8.8 million expansion.
The project will modernize the nearly 100-year-old building with four new classrooms, an enclosed corridor and increased safety, reports KSDK-TV. The middle school building formerly housed Kirkwood High.
Funding for the work comes from a $62 million bond request that Kirkwood (Mo.) district voters approved bond in 2020.
The project is expected to be completed in October 2023.
