Stetson University, based in DeLand Fla., is upgrading its athletic complexes.
The $6 million upgrade at Melching Field for the university's baseball team will add a field, video board and new seating, reports the Orlando Business Journal.
The city of DeLand, which leases the stadium to the college, is allocating nearly $3 million toward the project.
The university is also upgrading its Edmunds Center with a $17.9 million project to improve its volleyball and basketball facilities.
After the 2023 season is complete, the center will receive a new video board, new seats, new court surfaces and upgrades to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The Melching Field work is expected to be completed in 2023.
