Collin College board members have approved $14.1 million in infrastructure improvements at the Preston Ridge Campus in Frisco, Texas.

The Community Impact Newspaper reported that the community college district based in McKinney, Texas, has authorized spending on a kitchen addition at Alumni Hall on the Preston Ridge campus, as well as building renovations and exterior improvements at Alumni Hall, Founders Hall, Lawler Hall and Heritage Hall.

Before construction can begin, workers need to add a fire lane adjacent to Alumni Hall.

The new fire lane is required by Frisco city code so that fire trucks can have access within a 150-foot distance from any portion of Alumni Hall.

Officials say the fire lane is scheduled to be completed by July.

Substantial completion of the kitchen and renovations at the Frisco campus is projected for March 2022.
