Nov. 18, 2021
Plans call for an elementary school in the Lehigh Acres area to open in 2023.

The Lee County (Fla.) district is planning to build an elementary school in the Lehigh Acres area.

The school would be built near Lehigh Acres Middle School, which opened earlier this year, reports WINK-TV.

The new school will enable the district to accommodate population growth in the area.

The cost of construction will be covered by a voter-approved half-cent sales tax.

The elementary school is scheduled to open in August 2023.
