The university is partnering with Duke Energy Florida to build a facility on 600 to 800 acres at the school's Brooksville Agricultural and Environmental Research Station.
The 188 Hooper development will be a five-story building that will house more than 500 students.
The 42,000-square-foot facility opened in January 2018 on the Grayslake, Ill., campus.
The university says the facility has the most energy-efficient lab space on its campus.
