The University of Utah announced that it will close its Sandy Center at the end of 2026 as the institution reassesses where it delivers its academic programs and redirects state funding toward higher-demand areas.
The center will close Jan. 1, 2027, but all classes scheduled there for the fall semester will continue as planned, according to an official statement by the university. The college has operated in Sandy for more than 25 years and moved into its current location in 2015 to expand classes and student services for students in southern Salt Lake County.
