Worker inspecting residence hall roof in Boston dies

Crane collapses at Suffolk University facility

One worker was killed and another seriously injured in Boston after a crane used to inspect the roof of a seven-story Suffolk University residence hall fell over; its 110-foot metal arm plummeted through the air before slamming into a building in the heart of busy Downtown Crossing. Two workers were in the basket as it plunged. One died, and the other was hospitalized in serious condition.
