Worker dies in construction accident at Michigan high school
A construction worker on the job at a Michigan high school has died after being struck by steel trusses.
The Lansing State Journal reports that the accident occurred June 16 at Potterville High School in Potterville.
Authorities say construction workers were placing steel decking on top of steel trusses for a construction project at the high school when at least five trusses fell 40 feet and struck two workers.
One of the workers, a 27-year-old man, died. The second worker, said to be in his mid-30s, was being treated in an area hospital.
The victims were identified as Eagle Enterprises employees working on a gymnasium addition.
