The design process began with visioning as stakeholders were asked to determine what “next-gen learning” meant to a district that had not built a school in over 30 years. The result: Goochland Elementary School would be flexible and adaptable, collaborative and engaging, student-centered and age-appropriate, and connected to the site and nature.
With this vision in mind, the team asked, “How can architecture be leveraged as an effective medium for enhancing teaching and learning?”
