New music building in the works at Michigan college

Hope College in Holland, Mich., is building the Jack H. Miller Center for the Musical Arts. The $35 million, 64,000-square-foot facility is scheduled for completion in 2015. It will include an 800-seat concert hall featuring both main-floor and balcony seating and a smaller recital hall seating about 125. Instructional space will include rehearsal space, 17 individual practice rooms, an updated piano lab, a computer lab, a percussion studio, a recording studio and two general-use classrooms. The architect is HGA, and the construction manager is G.O. Construction.
