Sept. 4, 2013
Donation is the largest ever to the university

The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor has received a $200 million gift for the business school and athletic department from real estate developer and Miami Dolphins owner Stephen M. Ross. The Detroit News says the donation is the largest single gift ever to the institution. Among the business school enhancements the money will pay for: new spaces for students to study, collaborate and connect with fellow students, faculty and potential employers; a career services space and recruiting center; and classrooms with advanced technology to support in-person and virtual collaboration. The money earmarked for athletics will be used primarily for facilities development.
