Slow Internet connections plague many Ohio schools

Many will need upgrades by 2014 to accommodate online testing

Internet use in many Ohio schools has soared faster than some districts' ability to afford speedier connections. The Columbus Dispatch reports that many schools will need upgrades before the state moves its tests online in 2014. Officials say about 1 in 5 Ohio schools needs upgrades. More than 220 had slower Internet last year than what comes in a standard home cable deal, a study by a state commission found.
