Sister of racist murderer arrested at South Carolina high school after making threat and carrying a knife

March 16, 2018
Morgan Roof, 18, is the sister of Dylann Roof, who is on death row after killing nine African-American worshipers at a church in 2015.

The younger sister of Dylann Roof, who murdered nine black parishioners in 2015 during bible study at a Charleston, S.C., church, has been arrested after being found with drugs and weapons on the grounds of a Columbia, S.C., high school.

The Columbia State reports that Morgan Roof, 18, has charged with simple possession of marijuana and two counts of carrying weapons on school grounds. She attends A.C. Flora High School in Columbia. It is part of Richland County School District One.

Morgan Roof also posted on Snapchat that she hoped the students participating in Wednesday's National Walkout Day, protesting gun violence, would "get shot."

She also commented online that "we know it's fixing to be nothing but black people walkin out anyway."

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said in a news release that school administrators contacted the sheriff's deputy who is assigned as a resource officer at Flora High after Roof was found to be in possession of marijuana, pepper spray, and a knife. She was taken into police custody.

No students were harmed as a result of this incident, the sheriff said.

Dylann Roof, a self-avowed white supremacist, killed nine black parishioners in June 2015 during a bible study session at Charleston's Mother Emanuel AME Church.

Roof pleaded guilty to nine counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder and has been sentenced to death.
