A woman was shot and slightly wounded outside Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta after she refused a police order to drop the gun she was brandishing.
Tierra Vachon, 30, has been charged with obstruction, carrying a weapon on school property and disrupting public school
She was shot in the hand by an Atlanta Public Schools police officer who responded to a complaint about students and parents fighting outside high school, reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Police say Vachon was carrying a gun and allegedly began waving it in the direction of students and staff.
Police told her several times to drop the gun but when she refused, an officer fired one shot and hit Vachon in the hand.
Vachon was treated at a local hospital for her wound and then was taken into police custody. No other injuries were reported.
