Worker killed at high school construction site in Texas

Authorities believe worker on crew at Mackey High School in the Judson district was electrocuted
Sept. 18, 2015

An electrician working at a high school under construction in the Judson (Texas) district died on the site. Authorities believe he was electrocuted.

The San Antonio Express-News reports that the man was working Thursday on power lines at the construction site in Northeast Bexar County. Co-workers realized they had not seen him for some time, and began a search. The man was found unconscious. Attempts on the scene and at a hospital to revive him were unsuccessful.

Authorities later identified the worker as Robert Ruhtr, 30, KSAT-TV reports.

The day before the accident, the Judson school board voted to name the high school Mackey High, for Willis Mackey, who was the district's superintendent from 2007 to 2015. It will be the district's third comprehensive high school and is scheduled to open in 2016.
