Among largest districts, who spent the most per pupil in 2015-16?

Figures from the U.S. Census Bureau show that among the 100 largest public school systems, New York City spent the most per student in 2015-16.

Thee New York City school system, the largest public school system in the nation, also spends the most per pupil of any large district, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Among the 100 largest public school districts, New York City spent the most per student—$24,109.

Most of the 10 large districts that spent the most per student in 2015-15 are situated on the East Coast—five of the 10 are in Maryland.
