$54.7 million academic building under construction at South Carolina State University

The 94,000-square-foot facility is set to open on the Orangeburg campus in 2027.

South Carolina State University in Orangeburg is building a $54.7 million academic facility.

The university says the 94,000-square-foot building will replace the Turner Hall complex, portions of which are a century old. The facility will house classrooms, labs and faculty offices.

Ken Davis, associate vice president for facilities management, planning and construction, said crews should start erecting steel in April. Completion is expected in fall 2027.

The architect is Evoke Studios and the construction manager is Harper General Contractors.
