Hallsville (Texas) district unveils its third elementary school

About 735 students are set to begin classes Thursday at Hallsville West Elementary in Longview.

The Hallsville (Texas) district has held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to note the opening of the district’s third elementary school.

The Marshall News Messenger reports that the $27 million Hallsville West Elementary School in Longview will alleviate crowding at Hallsville North and East Elementary Schools. Students are scheduled to resume classes on Thursday.

Construction of the 91,362-square-foot Hallsville West Elementary began in 2021. Staff and the 735 students were supposed to move in for the fall semester, but because of delays were housed in a temporary location in Hallsville.

Classrooms for pre-K, second language, kindergarten and first grade are downstairs, and classrooms for second, third, and fourth grade are upstairs.
