New elementary opening in Del Valle (Texas) district
The Del Valle (Texas) Independent School District has held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of a new elementary school.
KXAN-TV reports that a new Hornsby-Dunlap Elementary School is scheduled to open Tuesday in Austin. The new building has been built directly behind the previous school.
The new building is 103,000 square feet in size and replaces the district’s oldest campus. The original 1960 building will be torn down, the district said.
Funding for construction of the school came from a $284 million bond proposal approved by voters in 2019.
