The Santa Clara County, Calif., Board of Supervisors has approved construction of a 110-unit teacher housing project in Palo Alto.
The project will provide affordable housing for teachers and faculty in 12 school districts in Santa Clara County and southern San Mateo County, reportsThe Palo Alto Weekly.The building will contain 110 residential units and amenities as well as 1,100 square feet of “flex space,” which would be usedas a café or other commercial use.
The Palo Alto City Council is allocating $3 million toward the project and Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is allocating $25 million.
Construction will begin in fall 2022, with an estimated completion in fall 2024.
Van Meter Williams Pollack LLC is the architect for the project.
