New elementary opens in Jefferson County (Ala.) district
The Jefferson County (Ala.) district has opened a new Warrior Elementary School in Warrior, Ala.
The district says the 90,000-square-foot campus has capacity for 650 students in grades K to 5.
The opening of the $23 million school will mean the old Warrior Elementary building will temporarily become the new location for Fultondale High School students, WVTM-TV reports.
The Fultondale High building sustained serious damage in a Jan. 25 tornado.
The new Warrior school is one of several campuses under construction in Jefferson County.
The architect for the Warrior school is 2H Design.
