Baker College's Metro Detroit campus to be built in Royal Oak
Baker College, based in Flint, Mich., has announced its new metro Detroit campus will be built in downtown Royal Oak.
The college says in a news release that the $51 million Baker College Royal Oak campus will have 86,000 square feet in a seven-story facility. The campus is expected to accommodate about 1,500 undergraduate and graduate students.
Students are scheduled to arrive on campus for the start of the 2022 academic year.
The college will offer students at the Royal Oak campus an opportunity to pursue degrees from nine of its most popular programs: business, information technology, nursing, education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, criminal justice, psychology and liberal arts.
The facility design will have a brick and glass exterior façade and spacious outdoor terrace spaces.
The architect is Edge Design Associates, and the builder is Colasanti Construction Services Inc.
Baker College has campus locations in Auburn Hills, Cadillac, Jackson, Muskegon and Owosso, as well as Culinary Institute of Michigan locations in Port Huron and Muskegon, and the Auto Diesel Institute in Owosso.
