Nevada State Public Charter School Authority
The Nevada State Public Charter School Authority has approved plans for a charter high school that will focus on construction professions.
The Southern Nevada Trades High School in Las Vegas and will open with about 200 students in ninth and 10th grades and will gradually expand in the future, reports the Las Vegas Review Journal.
The school will aim to introduce students to trade professions.
Officials said Southern Nevada Trades High School will be similar to ACE High School, a charter school in Reno sponsored by the Washoe County (Nev.) school district.
The school is expected to open in August 2023.
