Watson Lane Elementary in Louisville, Ky., has closed after 66 years.
The Jefferson County district is constructing a $17 million elementary school to replace Watson Lane Elementary and Wilkerson Elementary, reports WLKY.
The new school will house students from Wilkerson and Watson Lane, around 700 students in all. The new school will be built next to the existing Wilkerson Elementary.
The district is unsure how it will use the Watson Lane property.
The new school is expected to open in August.
