University of Kentucky launches landscape improvement initiative

The initiative is part of federal flood-management project that will provide half of the trees.

The University of Kentucky plans to improve its campus landscaping by planting 430 trees. The initiative is part of federal flood-management project that will provide half of the trees.

About 130 trees will be planted this spring and another 80 to 100 will be planted in the fall. The university’s Alumni Drive area will see more than 200 trees planted on the south side of the road, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported.
