The University of Louisville is tearing down three former residence halls to make way for a $45 million student housing complex.
WDRB-TV reports that Center, Wellness and West Halls, which were built in the 1970s, are being demolished.
The new residence hall will have suite-style living for 500 students and will be geared toward upperclassmen. University officials say the facility is slated to open in the fall of 2016.
