Skyline High will eventually have four small learning communities

Skyline High School in Ann Arbor, Mich., opens its doors to its first class of freshmen today. The 374,000-square-foot building is divided into four neighborhoods, or small learning communities. When it reaches full capacity in four years, each neighborhood will house about 450 students in grades 9-12. The students will share the same teachers for most core classes, though they'll report to other parts of the building for other classes.
