Kaufman declined to reveal the amount of her gift, but the university says that the amount is Kaufman’s largest gift to date. She has previously donated $20 million to Dance at The Music Center in Los Angeles. Construction of a new building to house the school is scheduled to begin in 2014, and the program plans to admit its first class of dance majors in fall 2015.
