Parents say elementary school is making kids sick
From The Birmingham News: Dozens of parents have pulled their children from Montevallo Elementary School in Montevallo, Ala., because of fears that the building is harming their children's health. Officials with the Shelby County School District say air quality testing indicates that Montevallo is a safe environment for students and staff, but parents believe hazardous conditions inside the building may be the cause of symptoms. Children, mostly second-graders have had symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The school relocated about 100 fifth-graders in September because of excessive mold spore levels.
