Bonds would buy Batavia (Ill.) High School expansion

Batavia, Ill., voters will go to the polls on April 17 to decide on a $75 million bond proposal that would pay for the expansion and renovation of schools. of the proposed funding, $61 million, would be used to enlarge Batavia High School, which is nearly 300 students over capacity. The high school expansion would include additional classrooms, a 79,000-square-foot fieldhouse, specialized lab space, an 875-seat auditorium, a new cafeteria and kitchen, and 200 additional parking spaces.
