FromThe Detroit News: The Farmington (Mich.) district will close four schools, and elementary and middle grades will be reconfigured to save money. William Grace, Wooddale, Flanders and Eagle elementaries will be shuttered next school year for savings of about $9.8 million over five years. The Maxfield Training Center also will close and its staff and resources absorbed by other facilities. The remaining elementary and middle schools will be reconfigured to house grades K-4, 5-6, and 7-8. The committee has proposed three options, each of which involves closing at least two schools.
