Black Hawk Elementary in Springfield, Illinois, fosters growth through hard work, smart choices and resilience. Inspired by a single honeycomb-themed wayfinding sign, the interior design took flight—echoing the school’s mascot, the bee, and its hive-like spirit. Blue and yellow school colors infuse the space, and honeycomb patterns, flexible layouts and natural light create a vibrant, collaborative environment. Much like their mascot, students are encouraged to stay focused, work together and stay busy as bees.
