San Bernardino High School in San Bernardino, California, has modernized its historic 1920s auditorium. The balcony, which didn’t meet the current building code, has been removed, and new restrooms have been built. New seating has been installed, and mechanical, electrical, theater and site systems have been updated. The project aimed to restore the building, which houses the only Federal Art Project in San Bernardino still owned by the federal government, and transform it into a modern, 611-seat performing arts center. The interior has been renovated to add a heating, ventilation and air conditioning system and to update electrical, lighting and audio wiring.
