Langston Hughes Middle School in Reston, Virginia, has undergone a remarkable transformation and established a new identity. Central to the design is an innovative “Hall of Nations” concept, serving as the school’s main circulation spine. A cafeteria expansion provides additional seating and an inviting outdoor patio. The core was reconfigured to accommodate the collaboration court, lecture hall, auxiliary gym, and main gym. The school embraces sustainable practices throughout. These include the reuse of existing building shell, regional building materials, and upgraded insulation and thermal components.
