From the 2023 Architectural Portfolio: Annehurst Elementary School

Jan. 12, 2024
The project was recognized as an outstanding design in the Elementary Schools category.

Inspired by a “treehouse” theme, the architects transformed Annehurst Elementary School in Westerville, Ohio, into an immersive learning environment seamlessly integrated with its natural park surroundings. The theme is woven throughout the school; suspended green and wood clouds, along with pops of yellow furniture, emulate sunlight filtering through a forest canopy. A serene reading nook features illuminated panels depicting flowing streams in a dense forest. “The Treehouse” resides in the corridor connecting the original building to the addition.
