The new MarketPlace in the I. King Jordan Student Activities Center at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., features exciting food options. The design incorporates DeafSpace principles as well as universal design principles, ADA regulations, and sustainable features in the new design. Every detail is crafted for a multisensory experience. Floor tiles with contrasting color and texture are incorporated to aid with wayfinding. Clear sightlines and solid colors minimalize visual distraction and facilitate ASL communications.
