The Ignite Professional Studies program at Bentonville Schools in Bentonville, Ark., was developed to provide relevant learning experiences in collaboration with regional businesses, non-profits, and industry professionals. Eleventh- and 12th-grade students in the eight career strands of the program had been meeting in different locations throughout the district; the project sought to bring them to a central location where each strand could have spaces designed specifically for its needs. The renovation of this existing building makes spaces feel more like the office settings where students interned, rather than a traditional school.
