A donation from New York Yankees centerfielder Curtis Granderson will pay for a multi-million dollar baseball stadium at University of Illinois at Chicago, his alma mater. DNAInfo.com Chicago says the field will be named for Granderson, who played baseball for the university from 2000 to 2002. Construction on the new stadium, which doesn't have a final price tag and will have a turf field, will start in the fall. The stadium will feature about 1,200 chair-back seats and two grassy areas for spectator seating. In addition to being the UIC Flames home, the stadium will host youth league games throughout the spring and summer.
