The University of Alabama announced it will build a $60-million performing arts center. The 109,017-square-foot state-of-the-are venue will be located on the old Bryce Hospital site in Tuscaloosa, Ala. It will feature a 350-seat drama theater, a 450-seat dance theater, a 250-seat studio, as well as rehearsal and scenery space.

The University purchased the 168-acre parcel from the state in 2010 for $77 million and agreed to pay another $10 million for environmental clean-up.
