Pennsylvania governor's lawsuit to overturn sanctions against Penn State is dismissed

A federal judge has dismissed Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett's lawsuit that sought to overturn the NCAA's penalties against Penn State University over the handling of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal. The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports that Judge Yvette Kane rejected Corbett's argument that the NCAA's sanctions violated antitrust laws. The NCAA imposed a $60 million fine and other sanctions on Penn State after Sandusky, a former assistant football coach, was convicted of sexually abusing boys.
