Project will boost capacity at Kyle Field to 102,500

Texas A&M University in College Station is moving forward with a $450 million redevelopment of its football stadium that will boost its capacity to 102,500. The San Antonio Express-News says the overhaul of Kyle Field will begin in earnest in November, after the final home football game. The entire west side of the stadium is to be demolished and a three-deck south end zone will be constructed. The work, slated to be finished by August 2015, will increase stadium capacity by about 20,000. The architect is Populous.
