Among largest districts, who spent the most per pupil in 2016-17?

The average per-pupil expenditure nationwide in 2016-17 was $12,201, the Census Bureau says.

The New York City school system, the largest public school system in the nation, also spends the most per pupil of any large district, according to the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
