An elementary school counselor in Texas slapped two students and has been placed on administrative leave as a result.

An elementary school counselor in Texas slapped two students and has been placed on administrative leave as a result, the San Antonio Express-News reported.

The counselor, who has worked for the North East Independent School District for more than a decade, said that her intention was to get the boys’ attention. She was on lunch duty when she slapped one boy in the face and then slapped another one when he laughed.

School officials are investigating the incident.
