Iowa school district gets more time to change logo

University of Oregon says Okoboji district's logo was too similar to the university's

The University of Oregon is backing off a request that the school district in Okoboji, Iowa, completely phase out the use of a trademarked logo within a year. The Sioux City Journal reports that the district has created a new emblem, but will need more than a year to change the logo on uniforms and scoreboards. The university in December 2012 contacted the district saying the Okoboji Pioneer logo – a maroon “O” – looked too much like the Oregon logo.
